Reporting spam and phishing messages

Summary

This article explains how to identify and report spam or phishing emails using Outlook’s Phishing Alert or by forwarding messages as attachments, and outlines what spam and phishing are and how IT will respond.

Overview

If you receive a suspicious email, please report it using the Phish Alert Button (PAB) in Outlook. Reporting suspicious messages helps Information Technology investigate potential threats and protect the campus community.

Solution

To report an email:

1. Select the suspicious email

2. Click the Phish Alert Button (PAB)

3. A pop-up window will appear:

4. Click the Phish Alert button at the bottom of the pop-up:

5. After submitting, you will receive a confirmation message:
